Data Protection in the Cloud
This session will cover basic cloud computing concepts: What is cloud computing (vs. traditional outsourcing); IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, public vs private cloud; the cloud supply chain; cloud security; and the role of Legal/Compliance/Risk. It will then discuss how GDPR applies to cloud computing, including cloud contracts, Art.28 compliance and liability; cloud providers as processors and/or controllers; and transfers in cloud computing, including (of course!) Schrems II, EDPB guidance, the new draft SCCs, and technical measures particularly encryption and confidential computing.
